The
Great Boomers Boycott

On May 2nd, 2001, several of our members went to
Boomers, our favorite after meeting eating and drinking
establishment, as we have been doing for approximately 10 years or so.
Our Ring President ordered the ten piece wing dinner. The
waitress then informed him that he would actually get only 5 wings
instead of 10 because they were now counting each wing as two (see
example below). Upon hearing this upsetting news, our President
decided not to order any food and left after only one drink vowing
never to set foot in Boomers again.
Those of us that were there felt he was justified to do what he did
and we ask all ring 158 members to join us in supporting our Ring
President and
BOYCOTT BOOMERS
until management either reverses its policy and provides 10 wings
with its 10 piece dinner, provides us with a logical, rational and
convincing explanation for this change in policy (we'll post it
here upon receiving it) or prove to us that we are in error and that
we misunderstood what was said (in which case an apology would be
posted here).

We understand that the economy is slowing down but we think
"downsizing" your chicken wing orders is going a bit too
far. Is this what
happens in a Bush economy - five wings
equal ten? If things were reversed and if Al Gore were the
victor, would a 10 piece dinner consist of 15 wings under the Gore
plan?
